Jamie Jones Miller


Jamie operates where national security, technology, and stakeholder diplomacy intersect. As the inaugural Dean and CEO of the new Arlington Campus of Northeastern University, Jamie is at the center of the movement to reshape the relationship between academia, the defense and intelligence community, and industry amidst an ever-evolving technology and security landscape. With Envoy, she advises clients on building partnerships across boundaries and identifying pathways to optimal outcomes for all stakeholders.

Jamie is the lead facilitator of the Vanguard Senior Executive Service (SES) Program of the Department of Defense (DOD), which brings together SES leaders from across the federal government to develop skills and relationships focused on inter-agency effectiveness. With Scott, she teaches the negotiation and influence component of Vanguard.

As faculty of the National Defense University's PINNACLE three-star flag and general officer program, Jamie is part of the team preparing the military's most senior officers to lead at the four-star level.

Before her current role, Jamie served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs, advising the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense on legislative strategy and executing the congressional engagement strategy. She managed relationships across Congress, the military departments, the White House, National Security Council, and key federal departments and agencies in support of DOD priorities. Jamie is also a thirteen-year veteran of Capitol Hill, where she led the staffs of two senior members of the House Armed Services Committee.
